Dozens of elderly people at a nursing home in western Moscow have reportedly been cut off as it went ablaze. Rescuers are at the scene attempting to save them from the fiery trap.

The four-story building went ablaze on Wednesday evening, a local emergency services department has confirmed. Media reports say the building is a private nursing home.

Up to 60 elderly people are reportedly housed there, many of whom are confined to their beds.
