Two Americans and one British servicemember are dead after 15 rockets hit a coalition base outside Baghdad, US officials have reported, citing “preliminary information” – despite Iraqi claims the strike had produced no casualties.

The rocket attack on Camp Taji also left about a dozen people injured, the officials told Reuters, on condition of anonymity.

The Iraqi military, which initially reported 10 rockets had hit the base 27km north of Baghdad, did not mention any casualties.
