Several rockets have landed at the Baghdad International Airport, located near US and Iraqi military installations. All flights have been cancelled and US military helicopters were seen flying over the area.

Three rockets came down inside the airport perimeter early Friday morning local time, Iraqi security media cell reported. The resulting explosions set two vehicles alight, injuring civilians.

Al Jazeera, citing Iraqi security sources, reported that the projectiles landed next to the passenger exit terminal, forcing the airport into an immediate shutdown.
