Russia is celebrating the 77th anniversary of the defeat of Nazi Germany and its allies in World War II

Thousands of uniformed troops and dozens of state-of-the-art tanks, howitzers and armored vehicles will roll through Moscow’s iconic Red Square on Monday as Russia celebrates the victory over Nazi Germany and its allies in World War II.

The state-of-the-art T-14 Armata main battle tanks, S-400 air-defense missile systems, and other top-notch weapons are to be showcased on the Red Square.

The event will be followed by a civilian march called the Immortal Regiment, in which people carry portraits of their relatives who fought in the war.

Similar parades and marches are taking place in other cities across Russia.
